聖誕節是一個世界上很多人都在慶祝的一個節日，也是原諒、分享、愛的時刻，菲律賓正是其中一個大肆慶祝聖誕節的國家，人們通常在聖誕節前一個月到兩個月就迫不及待地準備了!
Christmas is an event, which many people around the world celebrate. It is a time to forgive, to share and to love. Philippines is one of the countries that has the biggest Christmas celebration. People all over the country usually prepare for one or two months before the event.
炙熱的天氣，就連聖誕節都是一樣的炎熱，受到宗教的影響菲律賓相當的重視聖誕節，也是多數人在一年之中最期待的節日之一，在聖誕節的這幾天，或大或小的派對，集結親朋好友團聚一起，大家享受美食佳餚，彼此贈送禮物，歡愉的氣氛在聖誕節當天達到最高峰，在這裡大家早早就開始準備聖誕節，濃烈的過節氣氛一直延續到新年。
It is a hot Christmas here in the Philippines . It is one of the important and most expected season for Filipinos. Families and friends gather in these days to enjoy food, to exchange gift and to reminisce the past. Usually, the pleasant atmosphere reach its peak on Christmas day.
家家戶戶過聖誕節的方式不太一樣，不過大家都一樣的熱情，剛到宿霧時剛好是11月底，遇到一些當地朋友總會熱情的問聖誕假期的計畫，初來乍到的我哪裡會有什麼計畫呢！熱情又好客的菲律賓人聽到一個外國人要孤單的過聖誕節了立刻露出一個同情的眼神並且立刻邀請你到他家一起過聖誕節，儘管我們只是剛認識的朋友而已。
Every family has a different way of celebrating Christmas. When I arrived in Cebu at the end of November, some of my Filipino friends are excited and ecstatic about the Christmas holiday. Passionate and hospitable Filipinos, when they hear a lonely foreigner during Christmas they feel sympathy and immediately invite you to spend Christmas with his/her family, even though you have just been friends for a short while.

To understand more how Filipinos celebrate Christmas, the following is the interview with teacher Yeda. Let’s see how she was doing last Christmas?
Q1. How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
My family is very busy with their work and business; Christmas is the season of the year when we can bond, talk, and laugh together. It is a time to share, to forgive and to reminisce the past. It is the season to be jolly and gay, a time to getaway from problems and negativities in life and a time to be complete and whole.
Q2. Why do you think Christmas is important for Filipinos?
Christmas is important for Filipinos because it is a season to give, to love and to remember. It is the time of the year to know and understand yourself more. Filipinos’ lives will never be complete without celebrating Christmas. Lastly this event is the commemoration of the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.
Q3. What is the biggest festival in Cebu?
The biggest festival in Cebu is Sinulog. People around the world visit Cebu during Sinulog to witness and join the grand festival of all time. Sinulog is not only about the dances, street parties or masks it is also about the commemoration of the Child Jesus. In Cebu the celebration does not end in New Year but it extends through Sinulog.
